Events: The Porter talks about an annoying knocking. He opens the door for Macduff And Lenox, Who then talk about alcohol with the porter. Then Macbeth enters who asks about Duncan, where Macbeth and the others discover Duncan to be dead. Macduff tells everyone what has happened. Macbeth kills the guards apparently out of anger. Malcolm and Donalbain plan to leave. Malcolm will leave for England, while Donalbain plans to leave for Ireland.

Quote: “Who can be wise, amazed, temperate, and furious, loyal and neutral, in a moment? No man: The expedition of my violent love outran the pauser reason.” This was said by Macbeth who meant by this that no person can feel so many things at once with out encountering problems, like losing their ability to reason and instead relying on their racing emotions. In Macbeth’s case, his emotions pointed him towards killing Macbeth.
